Alien invasion RP

Overview:
An alien invasion has occurred. Most of the rest of the world has already fallen to the extraterrestrial aggressors. All that stands between humanity and enslavement is the Nations of HAS.

The Aliens:
Our Alien invaders are motivated by a desire to claim our world and its resources to expand their empire. Thus they seek to enslave and dominate humanity to serve as labour to strip mine the planet for resources. Their technology is modestly ahead of our meaning they have FTL travel but nothing like heavy shielding or huge laser phaser guns.
Also they want our women, because they're aliens. What a bunch of *ssholes.

So we will first need ideas for the aliens such as appearance, weapons, ships, ect.

Also post up your nation if you will want to play this RP.

How will we play this as?

Paragraph format, like POV's from the A song of Ice and Fire novels.

Can you show me an excerpt I haven't read them.

Currently we're looking at an insect race.  Similar to to the Drones of Yanme'e from halo.

I'm in the middle of creating a post on said sister thread, and you'll see it there.

What kind of tech will we be using?

Modern, mostly, with whatever other tech our individual nations have, as long as it is the same kind of tech.

I'm just gonna nuke their shit. And then Red   

Now here's a couple of ideas:


1. War, no matter how horrible it may be, drives technological advancement. (Or at least in last century or so)

What I am saying is that if we fend off the invaders long enough in the RP we could possibly gain new techs and such. We can reverse-engineer new tech from the aliens and use it against them, we also able to make our own tech too if this RP allow it.


2. The science and art of war always evolve as long as there is war.

In war we develop new tactics and strategies out of our victories, mistakes and discoveries on the field. Again, if we long enough we'll be able to make new strategies based on how to engage the aliens as well as out current ones if they work well against  them.


I'm not sure how we'll apply these, but the implication is there for us to use and it'd be shame if we didn't.
